Rick Griggs (Executive Pastry Chef) is an award winning pastry chef and established contemporary artist. His reputation as an exemplary pastry chef was established when working with Dean Fearing at Mobil 5 Star "The Mansion on Turtle Creek" in the 90s. Rick has continued working in fine dining establishments such as Abacus in Dallas, TX and Enchantment Resort in Sedona, AZ. Rick's peers awarded him "Best Pastry Chef" in D Magazines "best of" issue for the city of Dallas while pastry chef at Abacus Restaurant. Abacus, a Kent Rathbun concept, is one of a few Forbes 4 Star restaurants in the state of Texas and has maintained a reputation as one of the finest in Dallas. While at Abacus, Rick was allowed to cultivate his creative passion in pastry as well as art. Rick's artwork enhances the walls of Abacus and Jasper's Restaurants and many prominent collectors such as Queen Latifah. Rick continues to garner pastry recognition in national magazines such as Dessert Professional and has many credits in national publications such as Gourmet and Wine Spectator. After twelve years with Abacus, Rick has decided to continue his career as pastry chef in the San Francisco Bay Area with Taste Catering.
